Ka Hikitia Consultancy Services Ltd was founded and developed by an identified need for our service, derived from working across the health and social sectors.
The need for strong Māori leadership, innovation, transformation and the voices of lived experience and communities in co-design and strategic planning was evident and this has driven our passion for expansion and growth.
‘Ka Hikitia’ means ‘to lift up’ and is often referred to by practitioners and clinicians to support those in need through mana enhanced therapeutic practice.
Ka Hikitia was thoughtfully chosen as our name in recognition of promoting better health outcomes for Māori whilst acknowledging and elevating our whānau and communities’ experiences to inform how we can contribute to improving wellness.

The Wāhine Atua cards are a powerful tool designed to connect individuals with the sacred strengths, wisdom, and teachings of our wāhine atua. Each card highlights the unique qualities of these atua wāhine, offering guidance and inspiration for personal growth, resilience, and well-being.
Though this pack centers on atua wāhine—the divine feminine energies that manifest as elemental forces—Hineahuone holds a unique place within this collection. While not technically an atua, Hineahuone represents the thread between te ira tangata (humankind) and te ira atua (spiritual beings), being the first being where whakapapa was woven together.
She was given everything she needed and nothing she didn’t, intentionally built to fulfill her purpose in the world. As descendants of Hineahuone, we too are built for purpose, with everything we need already within us. This is why her inclusion is essential.
Grounded in kaupapa Māori values, these cards honour ngā taonga tuku iho – the ancestral knowledge and treasures passed down through generations. They serve as both a personal tool for self-reflection and a resource for practitioners working with individuals and whānau, helping to nurture cultural understanding and spiritual wellness.
